I recently posted on Mastodon that I updated my personal website (yes, the one you are now looking at) and included a note that I generated the site using Hugo on Cloudflare Pages. I received a reply asking my experience with the setup. My answer is below:

@dealingwith I’ve been using Hugo on Cloudflare Pages on and off for about the past year and a half, and it has been mostly good. The only real problem I’ve had is that the quick start instructions don’t tell you to set the Hugo version as an environment variable. After you figure that out, it is good. It seems on par with the free offerings from Vercel and Netlify, except you can get some basic analytics for free.
